Privacy Policy

Last updated September 6, 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data JoinMeFor.App collects, why, and what rights you have. JoinMeFor.App is a personal, non-commercial project — see our Imprint for who's responsible for it — and this policy is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who is responsible for your data

The person named in our Imprint. There is no separate Data Protection Officer, as this is a small personal project.

What data we collect

  • Account data: name, username, email address, password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text), bio, and profile photo
  • Booking data: experiences you create, the times you offer or request, messages sent with a booking request, and whether you and another user confirmed meeting or reported a no-show
  • Technical data: a session cookie needed to keep you logged in, and standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) used for security and troubleshooting

Why we process it, and on what legal basis

  • To create and run your account, and to let you use the booking features — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
  • To keep the service secure and working correctly — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not use third-party analytics or ad-tracking tools.

Who we share it with

Your name, profile information, and any message you send with a booking request are visible to the other participant in that booking, as necessary for you to coordinate. Our hosting provider stores the underlying data on our behalf as a data processor and does not use it for its own purposes. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

International transfers

Our hosting infrastructure may be located outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your data.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account (see Imprint for contact details), we will delete your personal data within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep certain records by law.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in our Imprint. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

Cookies

We use one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in. It's required for the service to function and doesn't require consent under the ePrivacy rules. We do not use tracking, marketing, or analytics cookies.

Children

JoinMeFor.App is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the version published here is always the current one.
